City Discovers 27 Thousand Violations of Jakarta Smart Card

Jakarta Provincial Government has discovered violations related to Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) fund. Violation happens since the recipients are easily get relieve letter (SKTM) from urban village office.

"KJP is problematic. There is somebody dare to trick us. We have discovered 27,000 recipients that do not take the procedures," said Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama, at City Hall, Monday (6/2).
According to him, misappropriation is widely opened through the applicabe process to get KJP fund. Previously, the recipient only gave SKTM letter, but now must through several processes.
KPK: KJP Fund Disbursement is Okay"Nowadays, there is a committee to asses the recipient. Then the process will go to student's parents, teacher, and headmaster. Appropriate recipient should apply SKTM letter," Basuki added.
He asserted, book purchases using KJP funds only can be done when there is a book fair or Jakarta Book Fair and must be completed with its bill. And the students demanded to write resume of the book.
As reported earlier, based on City Education Department’s data there are 611,507 students which listed as KJP recipients with Rp 1.4 trillion total budgets. But the available funds in City 2014 Regional Budget are only for Rp 779 million. Thus, it needs verification for those who more deserve to receive KJP funds.
“Verification process of KJP funds is still conducted. It perhaps KJP recipients are not that much (611,507 students),” Lasro Marbun added, Jakarta Education Department Head.
